Mt. Bachelor had many wonderful things but they didn’t have free beer!

Just got back into town after a sweet weekend in Bend with some buddies. Went skiing two days, and it wsa great…couldn’t ask for a better day than Saturday! Just a nice time…a little gaming, cruising the town, and eating/drinking beyond the ski good times. Went two two really great spots…the first was a kickass restaurant/lounge called The Grove right across the street from the Deschuttes brewpub. I got this steak with chimichurri sauce that was out of this world.

the winter olympics are over. I wasn’t very excited coming into it, honestly. Mainly because there’s alway always always too much ice skating. Way too much. This time was way better. I can dig speed skating, I love the skiing, the snowboarders do cool stuff, curling is a fun twist and a some ice skating is tolerable. I got into it. Kinda. But anyway, good coverage this time whatever network you were!

Rogue. Ah, the fines ales that come from that craft brewery. Their brewhouse in Newport is one of the main attractions of the Oregon coastline. I find their Portland location a bit pretentious and overpriced (maybe I can look the other way when I’m on vacation, but $16 for a pitcher is a bit much). Actually, it’s fairly friendly, it just seems pretentious. At this moment I’m consuming their Juniper pale.

tater tot casserole mac’n cheese chili 2lbs of bacon (w/Hamm’s) cheetos with cheese hot out of the microwave tots condiments beer I don’t think that’s love in the air I’m smellin.

A lot of playing today, after a Saturday workday. Played an indoor [soccer] game last night, and went out for a few beers after…turned out to be a buddy’s bday so my plans to get to bed early (before midnite) were thwarted. Crashed around one, so not too bad except I’ve been fighting a cold and had to get up at 6:30am to go skiing (two planks). The other mountain warriors arrived 7ish, and we cruised up to the mountain…an uneventful drive, and smooth!
